Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 12 PM to 2 PM at the Hoover Institution

How much do regulations cost? A simple question that defies simple answers.

QuantGov, a text analysis platform developed by the Mercatus Center, is a new effort to quantify the impact of regulation. By using computers to analyze the text of laws, the QuantGov platform is able to predict regulatory impacts based on certain restrictive phrases found in the legal text.

On Thursday, May 11, three scholars from the Mercatus Center, Patrick McLaughlin, Bentley Coffey, and Hester Pierce, will be joining moderator and Hoover Institution research fellow Adam White to discuss QuantGov and its potential at the Hoover Institution’s Johnson Center in Washington, D.C.
